May 11 2017 /// Giovanni Da Monreale - Urban installations

Giovanni was born in Monreale on June 16, 1980.
His vocation for figurative arts urges him to attend the Institute of Art of his city first, then the sculpture section at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo. At the age of 22 he moved to Carrara, both to complete the cycle of academic studies and to work in local art workshops. After studying, he moved to Versilia where he has the opportunity to collaborate with some well-known sculpture workshops, artistic foundries, as well as local and foreign artists. Since 2013, he has started his work of "urban contamination", placing glossy and colorful fiberglass sculptures representing children or girls intent on playing video games or surfing with a smartphone. He currently lives and works in Pietrasanta.
